Hank Aaron hit 715. The Braves won the '95 World Series. The Falcons played there for 26 seasons. The '96 Olympics came through. Then, in 1997, 1,600 pounds of explosives brought the whole thing down in less than 30 seconds.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eToday, most of the site is a parking lot, except for one piece of the outfield wall that still stands where Aaron's 715th landed. The mill eventually came down. Its first sculptor was Gutzon Borglum, a Klan member who later left the project and went on to carve Mount Rushmore.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eGeorgia bought Stone Mountain in 1958, four years after Brown v. Board of Education, as the state fought federally mandated school integration. Work resumed on the Confederate memorial, and the carving was finally completed in 1972. State law still protects it today.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eYou've probably done the walk. Ridden the gondola. Hell, maybe you've even seen the redneck laser light show?\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFor this shirt, we wanted to imagine a different monument, so we redrew Stone Mountain's Confederate generals as Black civil rights leaders. The people who fought to move Georgia forward instead of keeping it in the past. Because what's on the rock is not the same as what the rock is.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe three riders are John Lewis, Martin Luther King Jr., and Andrew Young.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eKing was born a few blocks from here, on Auburn Avenue, and preached at Ebenezer down the street from where he was baptized. Lewis represented Atlanta in Congress for 33 years, after Selma nearly killed him at 25. Young ran the SCLC, went to the UN as ambassador, then came home and served two terms as mayor.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThree men who spent their lives moving Georgia forward, put where three men who fought to keep it in the past have been carved since 1972.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWhite discharge ink on a black Comfort Colors heavyweight tee.
