Tomahawk chops. Dollar seat cushions at the gate. Smoltz on the mound, Javy behind the plate. The long walk back to the parking deck.

And then there was '95. Glavine pitched eight shutout innings. Justice hit the home run. Wohlers closed it out. After years of almost, October finally went our way.

This is a shirt for the season we don't have to explain.

Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium opened in 1965 as proof that Atlanta had become a "major-league city." But making way for it meant demolishing thousands of Black homes and businesses in the name of urban renewal.

What happened there afterward became Atlanta history. Hank Aaron hit 715. The Braves won the '95 World Series. The Falcons played there for 26 seasons. The '96 Olympics came through. Then, in 1997, 1,600 pounds of explosives brought the whole thing down in less than 30 seconds.

Today, most of the site is a parking lot, except for one piece of the outfield wall that still stands where Aaron's 715th landed. Fucking poetic.
